What is ECIC?

ECIC is a network for webmasters, webpastors, journalists, editors, etc. in the christian internet field.

The aim of ECIC is:

1)To maintain a network of Christians working with Information and Communication Technology who can act as a resource and support for each other as well as for their own churches
2) and to organize the Annual Conference

Christian Web pioneers from Eastern and Western Europe share their innovative ideas and their ecumenical vision and call on the church to strengthen its presence on the World Wide Web. This book is a collection of papers from the European Christian Internet Conferences 1996-2005 presented by men and women of vision with a commitment to Christs command to His Church for Communio and Mission, including the Vatican documents -The Church and Internet" and - Ethics in Internet".

Why ECIC?

Taking the Internet seriously means making effective use of its immense networking capabilities. Networks large and small, global and local, offer a unique opportunity for ecumenical and inter Church networks, teaching, learning, pastoral care and many other services.

The Conference in Munich in 2011 will be the 16th annual Conference. As with previous conferences, we expect to welcome delegates from all over Europe, from Iceland to Italy, from Ireland to Romania.  Conference participants come from Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox churches.
